Thompson Class News Feb. 17

We had a successful field trip.  One I will never forget, that’s for sure!  Thanks for all the Valentine love Friday, my kids and I sure enjoyed it.  I will be sending home a note about our next project tomorrow.  Our African American project will be due NEXT FRIDAY the 27th.

Reading: main idea and topic
Math: 3-d figures
Science: life cycles/plants as systems
English: responsive writing
Spelling: review of patterns

Feb 9th

Parents we have an exciting week in second grade.  Our class leaves for the fieldtrip on Friday morning.  We will pass out cards/treats on Friday afternoon when we return from the field trip.  Our living museum will be on Feb. 27.  Second graders are asked to report on African American inventors and dress as the inventor you chose on the 27th. 

This week in our learning:
Reading- folktales
Math- 3 digit subtraction
Social Studies- how is it made?
Spelling- affixes
Writing- revising personal narratives

Feb. 2nd

Thompson Class News Feb. 2nd 2015

Parents progress reports will come home this Friday.  Next Friday is our fieldtrip.  I am so excited to get to share the theatre with my students.  We are keeping an eye on the weather to see if we can swing lunch at the park or if we’ll need to come back to campus and have a picnic in the room.  This week is career week, we’ll be doing things starting tomorrow to celebrate.  Tuesday wear crazy hair or hats, Wednesday college shirts with jeans, Thursday dress as the profession you want, and Friday wear red and jeans for American Heart Association.
