February 18

Thompson Class News Feb. 18
Welcome back!  My kids (and I) just want to say a big thanks to those of you who sent me home with candy/goodies/love Friday afternoon.  Tallulah declared it the best day ever.  You’ve spoiled us!  Remember class t-shirt money is due by the 28th.  Black History projects are also due Friday the 28th.  3-D projects will be due this Friday the 21st.  There’s always so much going on.  Ask your student what they are reading at school.  Some students are participating in literature circles during guided reading time, and some are supposed to bring books home to read to you nightly.

This week in our learning
Reading: topic/main idea
Math: 3-D figures
Spelling: review of high frequency words
Writing: responsive writing
Science: plants adaptations

Social Studies: inventors

Thompson Class News Feb. 10

Parents we have been working hard for tomorrow night.  Please plan to attend our program in our classroom, at 7:00.  Be prepared to be amazed and entertained!  It should last from 7:00 to around 7:45.  We have been having a problem lately with our behavior in the hallway.  Please talk to your student and remind them why it’s important for them to stay quiet in the hall, and why it would be important not to touch other people.  T-shirt is due by FEB 28. The cost is 5 dollars. Thanks to those of you who have already paid.

This week in our learning:
Reading: comparing genres
Math: 2-d shapes
Writing: personal narratives
Science: plants
Social Studies: Black History month (take home project coming!)
Spelling: prefixes and suffixes
