Sept. 30


Thompson Class News Sept. 30
Parents, can you believe it’s almost October? There is so much going on!  Look for information about our fieldtrip this week.  I will also be sending home info about parent conferences the week of Oct. 21st, start thinking about when would be a good time for you.  We will be sending home fundraiser packets on Thursday if you’re interested in raising money for PTA.  We have checkpoint tests tomorrow and Wednesday, please make sure your student gets plenty of sleep and a good breakfast.  ALSO, tutoring starts next week for Math.  Be looking for tutoring letters around Wed/Thurs.  I feel like I am forgetting something.

Health Fair is Oct. 10, come see me!  Report cards go home next Thursday the 11th.

Week of September 24


Thompson Class News Week of Sept. 24

We will continue DRA testing this week.  We wrapped up CogAT last week, I know the students are thrilled.  Short weeks always seem so long.  If you didn’t get graded papers last week let me know.  We’ll search desks and see if we can get them to you J.  Our Fair Day is coming up on Oct. 7th.  I loved the fall/fair weather we enjoyed this past weekend.

College Week

I am the first person in my family to graduate college.  I want ALL of my students who want to go to college, to be able to.  I always say education is one thing they can never take away from you...I love college week.

Parents thanks for getting all forms in, it is appreciated.  This week is College week and we will be celebrating by participating in various activities throughout the week.  CoGat testing begins tomorrow.  Please make sure your student is getting enough sleep and is able to eat breakfast.  It helps!  Graded papers should be coming home this week, FINALLY!  Second grade is full of helpers, as evidenced by second grade having the largest number of volunteers per grade level at Galloway, YeS!

Thompson Class News Week of Sept. 9

Parents we are still flooding you with things to fill out.  Last week you should have received a volunteer form.  Please consider filling it out.  We’re trying to earn a popsicle party for having the most volunteers to sign up.  Today you’ll be receiving info on school pictures, this Thursday.  PTA info is also coming home.  We would love to have you join PTA.  The annual dues are $7.  PTA provides water for Play Day, the budgets for our school programs, popcorn/popsicles for rewards the students earn, and so many other things.  Please take a minute to fill out the form.

Thompson Class News Week of Sept. 3

Welcome back after a long weekend.  Wednesday night we have a fundraiser night at CiCi’s.  I would love to see you there.  Are you on facebook?  Target is giving away money for schools.  We would love for you to give your support to Galloway.  We are working on establishing expectations for classroom and hallway behavior.  We’re doing pretty well, we just have to figure out how to work without talking.  Our school Book Fair is this week.  Your student will be bringing home info about that.

Spelling: Blends and digraphs in multisyllabic words… Remember homework is due FRIDAY!
