January 13

Thompson Class News Jan 13

Have you been watching the NFL playoffs?  It’s been tense times at our house.  My husband is from North Carolina and only follows the Panthers.  I had to take off Friday afternoon to take Preston to the Dr. He had strep, again.  He is feeling better and is back at school today. This is a friendly reminder that Field trip money is due the first week in February.  The cost is $9 for students and parents that want to come.

This week in our learning:
Reading: Fables
Math: measurement
Science: insects
Social Studies: citizenship
English: fiction writing
Spelling: long a/long e

January 7

Thompson Class News January 7th

Welcome back!  I am thrilled to get this second semester started.  There’s so much to learn yet.  Parents I need your help with something.  We need to keep all markers and special pens at home.  It is becoming a distraction and keeping me from being able to teach.  These magical markers keep leaving desks and are found in other people’s desks and they don’t seem to know how they got there.  So if you would keep all markers at home it would be appreciated.

This week in our learning:
Reading- legends
Math- time/measurement
Science- milkweed bugs
Social Studies- citizenship
English- fictional writing
Spelling- high frequency words
